ABOUT ME

Margaret Taribo

Over the years, Margaret has worked closely with a variety of organisations, including government, non-profit, faith, and community groups, to help families access assistance from healthcare, education, and social support services. In her position, she guides parents and coordinates educational events, holiday programmes, and other activities for local communities and religious organisations.

These initiatives are designed to aid families dealing with issues related to immigration, housing, and mental health, as well as those with limited access to public resources. Through partnerships with Impact on Urban Health, Southwark Council (HAF), and the Mayor's Fund for London, the holiday clubs have experienced significant success and growth.

She established a consultancy named Distinct Family Services to enhance her involvement with these communities. This consultancy provides advocacy, training, and family support services, with discussions being amplified through her various social media platforms.

Margaret is an accomplished public speaker and the author of the book, 'Leaving, Living ... Life In A Foreign Land', stories based on true life events of two young women breaking away from modern forms of slavery and exploitation. She is also a recipient of many awards,
including the 2018 Woman of Honour Award from Unique Women CIC and the 2019 Enterprise Minds Awards (“Celebrating Diversity & Achievement”) from BBI UK.

Her other accolades are the 2021 Influential Role Model Award Mentors’ Award, the 2022 London South-East England Prestige Award, and most recently, recognition as one of the top 100 NatWest WISE100 Women in Social Enterprise 2024.
