Returning and Relearning
When I returned to the UK in my thirties, I came back to a country that was technically my birthplace but felt, in many ways, like foreign ground. I had to learn how systems worked — healthcare, education, social services — not as a child being guided through them, but as an adult trying to find her own way while building a life from scratch. I knew what it felt like to be capable, experienced, and still find yourself on the outside of a system that wasn't designed with you in mind.
That experience never left me. And eventually, it became the reason I do what I do.
